Binar Satellite Frame
When Binar Space needed precision structural components for their microsatellite program, Element Manufacturing delivered a flight-ready frame machined to exacting standards.
The frame was 5-axis CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminium — a high-strength, lightweight alloy well suited to the demands of aerospace applications. Five-axis machining allowed complex geometry to be completed in a single setup, eliminating the cumulative error that comes with repositioning and ensuring the kind of dimensional consistency that space hardware requires.
Following machining, the frame was hard anodised to provide corrosion resistance and surface hardness, protecting the part through the rigours of integration, testing and launch.
